#8) F.I.R. is marked with a (check ) mark if you have hit the fairway with your tee shot on any par 4 or par 5. If you miss the fairway, leave this blank. Total each 9 holes and enter the sum total for your round. In the Stat Index, convert this total to a ratio and enter the corresponding percentage from the Quick Stat % Selection Guide on the opposite side of the card. For example, if there are 14 out of 18 holes with a possible F.I.R., and you have checked 10 F.I.R., you would then calculate this ratio as 10/14. The corresponding percentage would be 71.4%.

#9) Rough/Playable is generally marked with a (check) if you can play your shot toward or onto the green normally as you would have if you were in the fairway. The goal here is to see where your shots are being played from when you miss the fairway with your tee shot. Enter sum totals and percentages as previously described in category #8. Alternately, you can mark an (R) for Rough or a (F) for fringe. This works in conjunction with the database for round summaries.

#10) Rough/Unplayable is marked with a (check) as described in category #9 above, except for the fact that your lie would be unplayable by local or USGA rules, or you cannot advance the ball as you normally would have if you were in the fairway.

Note: Categories 9 and 10 represent full shot lies in and around the fairway. You would use categories 15 and 16 for lies around the green.

#11) Fairway Traps would be marked with a (check) if your ball lands in a fairway trap. If you have more than 1 stroke in the trap, you would still mark this with a (check). Again, this category is for tracking your efforts when you miss a fairway. Enter totals and percentages as described for the previous catgories. Of course, leave this category blank if you have not landed in a fairway trap.

#12) O.B./H2O Penalty is marked with the (#) of penalty strokes if you have missed the fairway with your tee shot, or if you have incurred this type of penalty with full shots in and around the fairway. Enter your 9 hole and round totals as in the previous categories.

#13) Other Penalty Strokes are marked with the (#) of penalty strokes incurred besides those covered in category #12. All of the other criteria are the same.
