This zone will show you at a glance, just how effective you are with your tee shots on Par 4 and Par 5 holes. The 6 elements in this zone receive either checks or numbers. The Index is for ratios, averages and percentages. At the end of your round, you can see at a glance how this category effects your GIR's. With a little analysis, you can figure out how many GIR's you have when you log an FIR. When you analyze your 4 round data cards, the patterns will then become much clearer. Set out a plan to steadily improve your FIR. This could mean a trip to your Golf Pro! Remember, sometimes it is better to improve on parts of your game, rather than the whole enchilada! |

| When you analyze the ScratchStats cards in 4 round increments , you will see patterns that are present in your game. For example: Let's say that you are playing your home course regularly and you have 28.4% FIR and 18.7% GIR. You are also playing from the back tee. You also note that when you do have an FIR, then your GIR goes up by 47%. Just by isolating these 2 categories alone, you can see that work needs to be done, and striving for more distance is probably not the answer!
Let's face it. You need to be in the fairway more often! Shorter, but more accurately controlled drives are not as glamorous as a 300 yard screamer, but then again, you will see all of your yellow zone categories improve. And after all, a lower scoring average is what you need to improve your status on your golf team. Think strategy on every shot! Every time you hit a shot, you should at least have a plan of action. Whether or not it works, is up to you! |
