• This zone will show you at a glance, just how effective you are with your tee shots on Par 4 and Par 5 holes.

• The 6 elements in this zone receive either checks or numbers. The Index is for ratios, averages and percentages.

• At the end of your round, you can see at a glance how this category effects your GIR's. With a little analysis, you can figure out how many GIR's you have when you log an FIR.

• When you analyze your 4 round data cards, the patterns will then become much clearer.

• Set out a plan to steadily improve your FIR. This could mean a trip to your Golf Pro!

Remember, sometimes it is better to improve on parts of your game, rather than the whole enchilada!

• When you analyze the ScratchStats cards in 4 round increments , you will see patterns that are present in your game. For example: Let's say that you are playing your home course regularly and you have 28.4% FIR and 18.7% GIR. You are also playing from the back tee. You also note that when you do have an FIR, then your GIR goes up by 47%. Just by isolating these 2 categories alone, you can see that work needs to be done, and striving for more distance is probably not the answer!

• Let's face it. You need to be in the fairway more often! Shorter, but more accurately controlled drives are not as glamorous as a 300 yard screamer, but then again, you will see all of your yellow zone categories improve. And after all, a lower scoring average is what you need to improve your status on your golf team.

• Think strategy on every shot! Every time you hit a shot, you should at least have a plan of action. Whether or not it works, is up to you!
